The end of her high school life was not kind to Melanie, with horrible rumors and unexpected events everything seemed like it was turning against her. Now five years later her ex's best friend come into town causing all sorts of trouble and being up a past that is better off buried. With accusations all around can they separate fact from fiction? And can the feelings they've always denied have any chance of become something that could have been a long time ago start now? With lies and the hunger for money from someone else from her past coming back to haunt her can Mel figure it all out and will Shane see the truth before it's too late?
Melaine is one tough cookie dealing with the lot life gave her and doing everything she can to make the best of it. She's a strong character and you want to be there right on her side throughout the story cheering her on. Shane is a pain in the ass, but he's a loyal one. When faced with the truth in the beginning he's to stubborn to realize it. Being so loyal to Brad he does everything he can to help him until he really sees the truth. Throughout the story you have times you just wanna slap him upside the head, but by the end he redeems himself and you end up loving him. The story was one drama from one chapter to the next but it keeps your eyes glued to each page guessing what will happen next.
