Finding The Way Back To Love

Katie O'Boyle - Finding The Way Back to Love - Virtual Book Tour

Contemporary Romance
Date Published: February 4, 2015

Gwen Forrester, Ph.D., 32, gifted psychotherapist and beautiful widow,
is stuck in a rut, dating hotties on the fast track.
What she really wants is a life partner who’ll help her raise a family and make
a difference in her home town, Tompkins Falls. New in town, Officer Peter Shaughnessy,
30, has recovered from the gunshot wound he suffered in a drug bust in the city of
Syracuse, but he’s still smarting from his ex-wife’s betrayal and, before that, the years of
abuse from his alcoholic father. It feels like fate to Gwen when her very-pregnant niece
Haley trips the security system at Gwen’s lakeside home and Officer Shaughnessy takes
the call. By joining forces to help Haley, Peter and Gwen discover they’re a good team.
Long, exhilarating canoe trips convince them they’re on the same page with their life
goals. Then a destructive squall lands them on the rocks, and a night of stormy passion
reveals painful truths that drive them apart. Are they willing to go to any length to find their
way back to love?

Gwen wants her life to become fuller with and husband and children, but she knows the men she
has been seeing are nothing more than eye candy and a good time. When her niece turns up
suddenly and very pregnant and having broken into her home the cop who got there first turns her
head in a way no man has since her late husband.

Peter has become a bit disillusioned since his wife cheated on him while he was in the hospital,
but he still wants to find that happily ever after and have kids. Meeting Gwen is like a sign and
with her he sees a future they both want.

They don't really have secrets, but misinterpretations on both sides come to a head during a bad
storm and both will have to figure out how they were at fault and if their plans and ideals really
match up or if their future isn't quite the one they both envisioned.

Gwen is strong and independent, her life hasn't been the easiest, but shes made the most of it and
her past transgressions don't keep her from seeing the future. She is sweet and caring when it comes
to family and friends but also has tremendous compassion when it comes to everyone else around
her as well.

Peter seems like the perfect guy at first glance with his protective nature and tendencies, but as
the story goes on you see his flaw. And while things go great at first you see things as they go
downhill, and then his climb to become a better man. And what a journey it is.

These two have their share of ups and downs and you see their journey as they take it together
and sometimes apart through their eyes as well as other characters throughout the story making
for an interesting and intense read.

Although this story is the third in the series it is the first one I have read and it worked quite well
as a standalone. There were only a few small details I didn't understand in relation to the previous
books, but over it worked out really well. Good read
