As seventeen-year-old Gertie, studying abroad from New York, uncovers the unfathomable secrets of this ancient city, she unwittingly becomes a catalyst in an uprising led by Dionysus, the god of wine and lord of the vampires.

Interesting mix of Greek mythology in Vampire lore.
Gertie was forced into studying a year abroad by her parents used to Posh living, so it is definitely a culture shock when she finds herself sharing a room with her host families daughter as well as the roaches that tend to run around.
It it doesn't take her long to realize that the family is keeping secrets as are many of the people she meets. Uncovering no secrets though will change everything for her.
The storyline is interesting the Mythology and the Paranormals aspect were well explained and well written. They blended well together making a cohesive story.
I do wish the characters would have had a little bit more depth to them. Gertie in particular seems like she should have been a lot smarter than she was and ended up coming off as far more immature then I would have liked.
Overall an interesting read and I'm excited to see where things go with this series!
